Job summary

Freeman Health System seeks a Risk Management and Patient Safety Specialist to advance a culture of safety and reduce preventable harm across the organization. You will partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify risks, analyze safety trends, and implement sustainable improvements that strengthen regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as RN, RCP, or other equivalent clinical discipline required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience required.
• Professional certification in risk management or patient safety (e.g., CPHRM) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety principles, event investigation methodologies, RCAs, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Advance a culture of safety and high reliability throughout the organization.
• Identify risks, analyze safety trends, and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Oversee collection, review, protection, and reporting of patient safety information (PSES) and PSO submissions.
• Lead patient safety initiatives, event reviews, and RCAs; monitor safety metrics and trends.
