Job summary

Risk Management International, Ltd. seeks an experienced Risk Management Consultant to leverage an account executive background in the brokerage field within a growing risk management firm in New York.

You will assess client exposure, identify business risks, and craft insurance packages addressing transfer, retention, and reduction of risks. Responsibilities include meetings with clients, inspecting facilities, researching business types, and preparing Insurance Specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of commercial insurance experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Consulting license required; ability to supervise subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients regularly based on fees.
• Assess exposure and business activities to spot updates.
• Identify client business risks and inspect client facilities.
• Research client type of business and tailor insurance packages.
• Include traditional risk management methods and options like captives.
• Prepare Insurance Specifications for new clients per Risk Management International, Ltd.
• Review Insurance Specifications for existing clients before sending.
• Use MVRs and stay familiar with risk transfer methods, SIR, and high deductible plans.
• Travel to client sites as needed; not a remote position.

Leverage your account executive background in the brokerage field to become part of a growing risk management firm! A Risk Management Consultant needs to know about insurance, insurance markets, and brokers. You should grasp risk transfer methods, SIR, high deductible plans, current competitive markets, and reliability. Regularly meet with clients based on fees. Assess exposure and business activities to spot any updates. Identify the client’s business risks. Inspect the client’s facilities. Research the type of business your client has. Create an insurance package that effectively addresses business risks. This should include traditional methods of avoiding, transferring, and minimizing risks, as well as alternatives like sole-owner or group captives. Promote the client’s insurance program as needed or directed, which includes: For new clients, prepare Insurance Specifications using the standards from Risk Management International, Ltd. For existing clients, review the Insurance Specifications made by the Administrative Assistant before sending them out. Use MVRs. Be familiar with: risk transfer methods, self-insured retention, high deductible plans, marketing insurance programs, current competitive markets, wholesalers, and workers' compensation programs.

Requirements:

Min 10+ years of commercial insurance experience. Must be detail oriented with the ability to work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Consulting license and the ability to supervise and guide subordinates is necessary. Some travel to clients may be required. Not a remote position. NY Brokers licenses needed.
