Priority Commerce is seeking a Risk Data Analyst in Hicksville, NY. This role sits at the intersection of data science and financial risk, translating complex data into actionable recommendations to protect the business and enable growth.

You will work with underwriting, compliance, fraud operations, and product teams to surface insights, build dashboards, and automate risk reporting while maintaining data integrity and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in risk analytics, fraud analytics, financial data analysis, or related field within payments/fintech/banking.
• Proficiency in querying large datasets using SQL Server or Snowflake; Python or R is a strong plus.
• Experience building dashboards/visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
• Solid understanding of payment risk concepts—chargebacks, disputes, fraud typologies, underwriting, and credit risk.
• Strong analytical thinking; ability to frame problems, develop hypotheses, and validate findings.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex findings clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transaction, merchant, and portfolio data to identify risk trends, anomalies, and exposures across risk categories.
• Create recurring and ad hoc reports using SQL Server, Snowflake, Excel, Periscope, Tableau, and other BI tools.
• Build and maintain dashboards, models, and reports giving risk stakeholders real-time visibility into KRIs, chargeback rates, and merchant health.
• Develop and refine recommendations for improvements in merchant underwriting, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring.
• Support dispute analysis, identifying root causes and remediation strategies.
• Conduct portfolio segmentation to identify high-risk merchant segments and inform risk appetite.
• Automate recurring risk reporting and data workflows.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure risk pipelines are accurate and timely.
• Assist in regulatory and audit data requests; maintain thorough documentation.
• Stay current on payment risk trends and PCI-related developments.
• Present data findings to management.
