Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a Risk Control Specialist to join our team. You will be assigned to Comp Alliance members and deliver risk management services including inspections, safety committee participation, and training.

The role requires strong communication and independent work habits, with travel as needed. You will help identify hazards, prepare recommendations letters, and interpret workers’ compensation reports, collaborating with underwriting, claims and marketing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum education – High School Diploma.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional telephone and video demeanor.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel freely by car, including occasional overnight.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain annual contact with Comp Alliance members, including safety inspections, safety committee attendance, and training.
• Communicate with members regarding workplace injuries and safety programs.
• Identify safety hazards and recommend improvements to correct them.
• Utilize computer programs for reporting hazards and generating letters.
• Decipher workers’ compensation injury reports.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims and Marketing teams.
• Train member employees using PowerPoint materials.
• Use Microsoft Teams for routine virtual training sessions.
