Job summary

The City of Fountain Valley is seeking a proactive Management Specialist to join the Risk Management Program. You will coordinate cost-recovery efforts, manage safety training, and support contract and insurance administration while ensuring processes stay compliant and on track.

You will serve as a key partner to the Risk Manager, handling records, deadlines, and communications with internal and external stakeholders to protect City resources and ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college/university with major in public administration, business, or related field.
• At least 1 year of professional administrative experience in a related field.
• California Driver License and satisfactory driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost recovery efforts by coordinating and tracking third-party damage recovery and maintaining supporting documentation.
• Champion safety and training by coordinating safety programs and OSHA compliance efforts.
• Keep compliance on track by monitoring regulatory updates and deadlines and ensuring timely documentation.
• Support contract and insurance administration by tracking requirements and expiration dates and following up on items.
• Strengthen Risk Management operations by maintaining program information and supporting facility inspections.
• Provide responsive customer service to City employees, departments, vendors, and the public, including answer to inquiries and processing follow-ups.
• Make the details count by tracking assignments and improving administrative processes across the Division.
