Job summary

Fessler & Bowman is seeking a Risk & Claims Manager in Michigan to oversee all active workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs. You will partner with field leaders to place injured team members back to work safely and efficiently, while maintaining thorough documentation and regulatory compliance.

The role requires extensive experience managing multi-state claims, coordinating with carriers, and driving proactive claim outcomes to protect staff and the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of workers’ compensation claims management experience with active caseload across multiple states.
• Experience coordinating return-to-work programs and modified duty placements.
• Strong knowledge of ADA, FMLA and workers’ compensation intersections.

Responsibilities

• Manages all active workers’ compensation claims from intake through closure.
• Serves as primary contact for injured team members and coordinates medical access and claims communication.
• Monitors claim status, treatment progress and work status updates; maintains proactive communication with employees.
• Leads return-to-work and modified duty coordination across field operations.
• Maintains accurate claim records, communications with carriers/TPAs, and reporting to leadership.
• Coordinates leave with HR programs (FMLA, ADA) and ensures proper documentation.
