Job summary

State Farm is seeking a Data Analyst for the PCU Portfolio Analysis unit, Risk Analytics. You’ll transform business needs into data-driven solutions, collaborate across Underwriting Solutions, P&C Modeling, and Actuarial teams, and develop visualizations with Python, Power BI, and GIS.

The role involves building automated reports and dashboards, mentoring peers, and stewarding data practices in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Identify data quality pain points and opportunities for improvements.
• Experience with multiple generations of data structures.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Coach peers on data processes and strategies.
• Proficient in SQL and Python; familiarity with AWS.

Responsibilities

• Query and aggregate data sets from different sources to support business objectives.
• Conduct data analysis and respond to ad hoc data requests from business partners and leadership.
• Manage data quality to ensure accuracy in reporting, projection, and analytic efforts.
• Monitor and track key performance indicators through dashboarding and reporting with BI tools.
• Create visualizations and maps using Python, Power BI, and GIS; support automation with notebooks in cloud environments like AWS SageMaker.
