Job summary

State Farm is seeking a Data Analyst for the PCU Portfolio Analysis unit. You will develop data-driven solutions, collaborate with Underwriting Solutions, P&C Modeling, and Financial Operations to monitor risk and support new business and reunderwriting model threshold work.

The role emphasizes data quality, dashboarding, and the creation of visualizations using Python, Power BI, and GIS, with cloud-based notebooks in AWS SageMaker.

Qualifications

• Experience with data quality and data modeling to support reporting and analytics.
• Ability to navigate multiple data sources and data structures.
• Strong communication skills to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven independence with minimal supervision and ability to coach peers.
• Experience with data visualization and dashboards using BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Query and aggregate data sets from different sources/platforms to support business objectives.
• Conduct data analysis and field ad hoc data requests from business partners and leadership.
• Manage data quality to ensure accuracy in reporting, projection, and analytic efforts.
• Monitor KPIs through dashboarding and reporting with other teams.
• Collaborate on underwriting strategy within P&C Underwriting and enterprise partners.
• Support visualizations and maps using Python, Power BI, and GIS.
• Help develop and maintain automated reports and notebooks in AWS SageMaker.
• Steward data methodologies and calculations to enhance consistency.
• Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
