Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Risk Advisory Services Principal to lead and grow a diverse advisory practice. The role focuses on delivering risk-based advisory services across internal audit, governance, IT risk and SOX compliance, while building client relationships and driving new business development.

The position requires deep industry knowledge, strategic vision, and the ability to manage teams, develop engagements, and ensure high-quality deliverables for clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, or related program.
• CPA, CIA or equivalent designation(s) required.
• Twelve (12)+ year(s) experience with risk advisory, internal/external audit, business process reengineering, and/or internal controls, with internal audit experience in technology, real estate, life sciences, financial services or healthcare preferred.
• Seven (7)+ year(s) of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
• Successful track record of building and growing a Risk Advisory practice, including building a team, a client base and managing revenue
• Proven track record of new business development
• Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the “big picture” as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
• Ability to travel as needed for client engagements

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction with a focus on exceptional client service and growth.
• Translate firm vision into actionable objectives and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop sales plans and pursue expansion with existing clients and new opportunities.
• Coordinate firm resources to deliver best products and services to clients.
• Ensure training and development opportunities, provide timely feedback and recognition to staff.
• Oversee profitability, utilization, and timely fee collection.
• Work with client executives to understand businesses and identify risks; manage financial/operational risks.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of clients’ industries and provide strategic recommendations.
• Assist in implementing new processes and controls addressing key risks.
• Assess and manage risk across ERM and SOX compliance, etc.
• Review processes against frameworks and communicate issues/recommendations.
• Lead new business development and proposals.
• Produce executive summaries and final reports for clients.
• Build client relationships and act as trusted advisor.
• Lead professional presentations to internal and external audiences
