Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) is seeking an experienced Risk Advisory Director for its Not-for-Profit and Higher Education Practice. You will help clients understand risks and address controls, leveraging AI and analytics to improve efficiency across the organization.

You will lead engagement teams, develop improvements, and drive business development while maintaining strong client relationships and high performance within a growing practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Information Technology, MIS, or related field.
• 10+ years in a consulting/practice role servicing cross-industry clients at national level.
• Experience with not-for-profit/higher education sectors preferred.
• CPA/CISA/CISSP or similar certification preferred.
• Experience building internal audit, internal controls, compliance or ERM programs.

Responsibilities

• Review processes and controls across risk domains to assess risk, control, and process effectiveness.
• Develop right-sized recommendations for not-for-profit and higher education clients.
• Lead entity and process risk assessments and internal audit planning.
• Establish and operate internal audit, controls, ERM, and compliance programs.
• Leverage AI, analytics, and automation to deliver services efficiently.
• Manage engagements, including staffing, scheduling, and client management.
• Support business development and client relationship growth.
