Job summary

Walgreens in Kansas City seeks a Store Operations Leader to supervise customer service associates, front-end operations, and pharmacy and retail store performance. You will support the Store Manager, lead recruitment, coaching and discipline, and ensure sales, profitability, and compliance.

You will optimize customer experience, coach staff, manage schedules, cash handling, inventory, and safety while coordinating with Pharmacy Operations and external partners to deliver store goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome OR satisfactorily completed Walgreens Community Internship Program OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities that include professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills and strong business acumen.
• Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.
• Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, if promotion is offered, which could require relocation to a different store location.
• Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets located within the same hiring Area.

Responsibilities

• Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters, and front end and pharmacy operations.
• Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
• Supervises the operation of the store, schedules, and cash handling activities.
• Collaborates with external partners to drive store opportunities and community outreach.
• Uses data and KPIs to drive improvements and support Store Manager decisions.
• Supports Pharmacy during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician when necessary.
• Establishes a culture of accountability and ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
