Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing structural steel organisation in Central Texas. You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers, gaining exposure from initial proposal through to final closeout, while spending regular time on active job sites.

The role offers real responsibility from day one and a clear path toward progressing into a Project Manager position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of general project management or construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and interpreting structural drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Supporting the development and monitoring of project schedules, budgets and milestones.
• Coordinating between customers, project teams, fabrication/shop operations and field crews.
• Maintaining project documentation, schedules and project management systems.
• Supporting vendor and subcontractor coordination and performance.
• Assisting with change orders and drawing reviews.
• Preparing project progress, schedule and budget updates.
• Supporting customer communication and relationship management.
• Visiting active job sites to monitor progress and address field issues.
• Helping ensure office, fabrication and field operations remain aligned throughout the project life-cycle.
• Supporting projects from proposal through to closeout.
