Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to assist in managing construction projects from pre-construction through completion on client sites.

You will help develop schedules, milestones, budgets, and coordinate resources with the PM and site team. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 1–3+ years in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling, with strong Microsoft Office skills and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management, electrical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 1–3+ years of direct experience in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling.
• Proven track record of delivering mission-critical programs on time and on budget.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Contract negotiation and administration experience is a plus.
• Experience building and leading teams.
• Experience coaching and mentoring direct reports and vendor teams.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-discipline coordination skills.
• Client engagement experience in similar programs preferred.
• Understanding of earned value management, SPI, CPI and other project-tracking metrics.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• BICSI RCDD or similar telecommunications certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop program schedule and milestones with the PM and site team.
• Assist in cost estimating and resource planning.
• Schedule project steps and budget time to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with the superintendent and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare contracts and manage changes with designers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Obtain permits and licenses.
• Direct and supervise on-site and office teams.
• Maintain project financial plans and reporting.
• Lead quality control programs and risk management.
• Act as liaison to client and maintain satisfaction.
