Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Production Manager in Blue Island, IL. This full-time position involves direct supervision of an operating department for three months within the PMT program, while developing broad knowledge of plant operations and manufacturing processes.

You will plan short- and long-term activities, schedule production, and coach a team to maximize productivity. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, PMT Step 1 completion, and strong MS Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Production Management Trainee – Step 1 program and recommendation of management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel/spreadsheets is required.

Responsibilities

• Plans activity for the short-term and long-term.
• Develops department production schedule.
• Supervises employees and motivates for productivity.
• Ensures operations meet efficiency and quality standards.
• Identifies and resolves problems and improvement initiatives.
• Supervises adherence to company policies and regulations.
• Participates in inventory processes and budget/expense controls.
• Gains understanding of hiring processes and product costing.
