Job summary

icon Mechanical, a full-service mechanical contractor and construction firm, seeks a Project Manager I for the Charlotte, NC office to support mechanical construction projects, maintain schedules, budgets, and communications with the project team. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of project management experience, a relevant degree, and proficiency with MS Office, Viewpoint, ProCore, ACC Build, and BlueBeam.

Familiarity with P6 or MS Project is a plus.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years as a Project Manager in Mechanical Construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems and project standards.
• Experience with MS Office, Viewpoint, ProCore, ACC Build, and BlueBeam.
• Familiarity with construction management platforms; strong computer skills.
• Working knowledge of P6 or Microsoft Project; willingness to learn.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences; time management.

Responsibilities

• Support safety compliance and site activities with field teams.
• Review and distribute drawings, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Maintain knowledge of contract scope and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and change management.
• Assist with field execution of mechanical, plumbing, and specialty systems.
• Prepare fabrication shop packages and perform material take-offs.
• Support scheduling and track progress to milestones.
• Coordinate labor, material, and equipment logistics.
• Monitor job costs, invoices, payables/receivables, and forecasts.
• Develop project material matrices with cross-team collaboration.
