Job summary

May Institute is hiring an Assistant Program Coordinator to partner with the Program Coordinator in supporting adults with autism and developmental disabilities in an adult residential home. This manager-in-training role runs the home when the PC is off and offers hands-on leadership growth.

You will provide direct care, coordinate meals and activities, and ensure safety protocols are followed. A driver’s license and 1+ year relevant experience are required, with MAP certification boosting pay.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with 1+ year driving experience.
  • 1+ years supporting individuals with developmental disabilities; crisis intervention/physical management preferred.
  • Interest in developing leadership and growing into a management role.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational ability.
  • Compassion, reliability, and commitment to adults with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and assist in daily site operations.
  • Coordinate meal prep, shopping, recreation planning, and household tasks.
  • Support MAP procedures, documentation, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain communication with the Program Coordinator, management, and nursing teams.
  • Take on-call two days per week and cover the home when the Program Coordinator is away.
