Job summary

Permanent Placements LLC seeks a Labor & Employment Associate in Los Angeles with 2–3 years of experience to join a nationally recognized firm representing employers across California.

The ideal candidate will handle employment litigation through stages of the dispute lifecycle, with exposure to single-plaintiff matters, wage-and-hour litigation, class actions, PAGA matters, mediations, and strategic counseling.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar.
• 2–3 years of litigation experience, preferably in labor and employment law.
• Experience handling litigation through multiple phases, including discovery, motions, and depositions.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in labor and employment litigation matters.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation from inception to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Propound and respond to written discovery.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
• Draft dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Assist with wage-and-hour, class actions, and PAGA litigation.
• Collaborate with clients and litigation teams to develop case strategy.
