Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Public Infrastructure team in McAllen, TX. This role supports design and production of municipal projects, including roadways, drainage, water and wastewater pipelines, parks, and site design.

You will work under mentorship from Professional Engineers, developing skills in CAD/Civil 3D and construction documentation while delivering clear, concise presentations and reports to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• 1–4 years of experience in public infrastructure and municipal projects (roadways, drainage, pipelines, parks, civil site design, stream bank stabilization).
• Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, methods and equipment used in construction or repair of civil engineering improvements.
• Able to balance multiple objectives and make sound decisions.
• Experience with CAD/AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related design software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and produce construction plans for local infrastructure projects.
• Use design software and drafting tools to clearly display calculations, layouts and concepts for construction plans.
• Draft reports and present plans to diverse audiences, translating technical information into accessible concepts.
• Estimate costs and quantities, perform site visits, and review contractor submittals.
