Job summary

Halff invites a Graduate Civil Engineer II to join our Public Infrastructure team in San Antonio, TX. The candidate will contribute to planning, design, and construction documents for roadway, drainage, water, wastewater, parks, and trails while working under Professional Engineers to develop skills and advance toward ownership in the firm.

We seek individuals with 4–8 years of related experience, strong design capabilities, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in civil engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent
• FE exam passed and PE exam prep in progress
• Texas EIT license within 1 year of employment
• 4–8 years in public infrastructure/municipal design
• Strong design experience and project management skills
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and construction documents for public infrastructure/land development projects
• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a PE
• Lead production staffing at Intern/Graduate Engineer I level
• Prepare plans, specs, estimates, reports, and documentation
• Perform calculations for grading, drainage, utilities, alignments, water flow
• Use Civil 3D and other software to develop models and drawings
• Analyze survey data, imagery, maps for project design
• Coordinate with PMs, surveyors, architects, contractors, regulators
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory compliance
• Support construction phase services and progress reviews
• Participate in client meetings and project discussions
• Collaborate with Halff teams across offices
