Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education RISE teacher to educate students with diverse disabilities across core subjects, including Reading, Writing, Math, History, and Adaptive PE. You will provide resources, training, and emotional support to families for long-term planning.

The role emphasizes developing IEPs, coordinating related services, and maintaining strong family engagement within a high-expectation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities.
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education; appropriate grade and subject band core content certification(s) or Texas Core Content Competency Worksheet.

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
• Develop IEPs and implement IEPs; assess student progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the year to reflect progress and goals.
• Communicate students’ progress with families weekly.
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
