  • Manage task assignments to ensure safety and welfare of staff and students.
  • Ensure compliance with 21st CCLC, DESE, and federal requirements.
  • Oversee program budget and ensure funds are used appropriately.
  • Coordinate external evaluation processes.
  • Supervise and support Site Coordinators.
  • Monitor program implementation and student outcomes.
  • Promote the program and educate community, state, and national leaders about its success and growth.
  • Develop community partnerships to provide students with services and opportunities.
  • Coordinate required training and professional development for staff.
  • Collaborate with district leadership including Executive Director of Student Services, Assistant Superintendent, and Executive Director of Special Programs.

Job Description

The RISE program (Responsive Intervention and Student Enrichment) is Fulton Public Schools’ intentional after-school learning program that extends student support beyond the regular school day. Serving targeted elementary and middle school students, RISE provides a safe, structured environment where students participate in small-group academic intervention and enrichment activities. Academic support is led by RISE teachers and aligned to school-day instruction, with an emphasis on reading, math, and science, while enrichment opportunities may include STEM, coding, the arts, career exploration, mentoring, and community partner activities. Through partnerships with community organizations, RISE also connects students and families to tutoring, mentoring, resources, and opportunities that support student success and postsecondary readiness.

Job Goal

The program director provides overall leadership, oversight, and compliance management for the RISE afterschool program. This role ensures that all program components are implemented with fidelity and aligned with federal, state, and district expectations. The Program Director focuses on program monitoring, evaluation, fiscal oversight, and continuous improvement rather than daily site operations. This job reports to the Executive Director of Student Services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage task assignments to provide for the safety, welfare, and security of employees and students.
  • Ensure compliance with all 21st CCLC, DESE, and federal requirements.

  • Coordinate external evaluation processes.
  • Supervise and support Site Coordinators.
  • Monitor program implementation and student outcomes.

  • Coordinate required training and professional development for staff.
  • Collaborate with district leadership, including:
    • Executive Director of Student Services (direct supervision).
    • Assistant Superintendent (curriculum and staffing alignment).
    • Executive Director of Special Programs (federal compliance).
  • Support program sustainability planning and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional job criteria not previously described or as otherwise assigned to ensure the success and growth of the program.
