Job summary

State of Iowa is seeking a Right of Way Agent 2 to help acquire and negotiate agreements for public and highway projects in compliance with state and federal requirements. You will be the face of the Iowa Department of Transportation, representing citizens and communicating across diverse communities.

The role includes journey-level responsibilities with support from higher-level agents, set travel within Iowa, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and two years of Right of Way Agent experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Experience negotiating real estate transactions and relocation assistance.
• Ability to travel statewide and work with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate non-voluntary (Eminent Domain) real estate transactions for highway projects.
• Work with individuals displaced by projects through Relocation Assistance program.
• Document contacts with clear reports and maintain organized files for processing.
