Qualifications

Responsibilities

Help ensure critical land agreements are managed accurately and efficiently. As a Right of Way Lease Payments Analyst, you’ll join the Land Administration team and play a key role in interpreting agreements, processing payments, maintaining reliable records, and supporting smooth operations across multiple business functions. This is a 12+ month contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent, offering opportunities for professional growth and continued learning.

Overview

This role is based in Houston, TX 77002 and follows a Monday–Friday, 40-hour-per-week schedule in the office. You’ll work with midstream surface leases and term right-of-way agreements while collaborating with teams across the organization and external government entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret lease agreements, payment obligations, and land-use terms.
• Process periodic lease payments accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain lease records, including critical dates, payment schedules, land descriptions, and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with Land, Accounting, Operations, Financial Reporting, Audit, Legal, Commercial, Facilities, and Tax teams to resolve issues.
• Use Google Earth and ArcGIS to visualize land parcels, boundaries, and rights-of-way.
• Prepare lease renewals and terminations, including coordination with applicable government entities.
• Communicate contract rights and obligations clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Research pipeline facility information and calculate CPI adjustments for lease payments.
• Respond to ownership changes and payment inquiries.
• Manage physical and digital lease files for monthly reporting and audit readiness.

Must-Have

• Eligibility to work permanently in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Understanding of midstream land terminology and agreements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data reconciliation.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, proactive communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple systems, follow detailed instructions, and take ownership of work from start to finish.
• Familiarity with alignment sheets and their role in land and pipeline operations.

Nice-to-Have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in surface lease contract administration, land management, or accounts payable.
• Experience with Quorum Land System or similar software.
• Knowledge of easement and right-of-way agreement setup and database management.
• Midstream energy contract experience, including surface rights and Oracle systems.
• Certificate in Land Management or membership in AAPL or IRWA.

Compensation: $35.00 per hour

Additional support: $100.00 per month reimbursement for contract parking
