Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Rigger Journeyman for a TAR outage lasting roughly 30 days, starting 10/09/26 through 11/09/26 or until completion. The role runs 6:00 AM to 4:20 PM with a per diem of $120 per day for seven days for journeyman and above.

At least 3 years of industrial rigging experience and preferred NCCER certification are required. Responsibilities include rigging loads, coordinating with crane operators, signaling for safe hoisting, and ensuring adherence to

Responsibilities

• Loads, transports, unloads and selects rigging gear for loads.
• Attaches pulleys to overhead structures and hooks loads with grappling devices.
• Directs crane operators and hoisting teams using signals and radios.
• Sets up hoisting equipment and ties knots as needed.
• Assembles and disassembles cranes and splices rope or wire.
• Supervises hoisting of machinery with safety at the fore.
• Performs routine maintenance on tools and equipment.

Rigger Journeyman

TAR Outage lasting approximately 30 days Beginning 10/09/26 - 11/09/26 or when TAR is over. Whichever comes first.

Work Schedule 6 10's 6:00AM - 4:20PM

Per Diem paid at $120 Day for 7 days for Journeyman and up, per Per Diem Guidelines

Must have at least 3 years Industrial Rigger experience to be considered for this position

SUMMARY

• Loads, transports, unloads and assists in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps.
• Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes and chains to crane hook.
• Gives direction to crane operator or hoisting engineer engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled using hand signals, loudspeaker, two-way radio or telephone.
• Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Has ability to tie various knots.
• Assembles and disassembles cranes.
• Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle.
• May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment onto or off ships, railroad, cars or trucks.
• Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
• Responsible for observing all safety rules.
• Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
