Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Systems North America, Inc. is seeking a Rigger I to plan, direct, and execute complex rigging and lifting operations for heavy equipment and oversized loads.

You will lead rigging teams, review lift plans, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The role requires at least 5 years of rigging experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with load calculations and technical drawings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of rigging experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CDL License (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items preferred.
  • Experience with OSHA safety regulations and lifting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee all rigging and lifting operations, including complex lifts.
  • Review lift plans, load charts, and project specifications.
  • Determine rigging methods, equipment selection, and load weight calculations.
  • Inspect and approve rigging gear (slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, etc.).
  • Coordinate lifting with crane operators, supervisors, and safety personnel.
  • Conduct pre-lift meetings and JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses).
  • Maintain rigging inspection records and lifting documentation.
  • Train and mentor riggers and signal persons.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
