The Rigger is responsible for the safe and efficient rigging of equipment and materials within the fabrication yard. This role involves the assembly, disassembly, and movement of heavy loads using various rigging equipment and techniques. The Rigger must work closely with the rigging team and adhere to project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure all lifting operations are conducted safely and effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Perform rigging tasks by assembling and disassembling rigging gear, including slings, chains, and hooks, to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment as per the project requirements.
  • Inspect rigging equipment prior to use, ensuring that all gear is in safe working condition and compliant with safety standards. Report any defects or issues with equipment to the Rigging Foreman.
  • Adhere to lift plans and instructions provided by the Rigging Foreman, ensuring all lifting operations are executed safely and according to specified procedures.
  • Work closely with crane operators and other riggers to coordinate lifting operations, ensuring clear communication and teamwork throughout the process.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures during rigging operations. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions, maintaining awareness of potential hazards.
  • Calculate load weights and center of gravity to determine proper rigging techniques and equipment for lifting operations.
  • Maintain records of rigging activities, including equipment inspections and incident reports, as required by company policies.
  • Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized, following good housekeeping practices to minimize hazards.
