Job description

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is a 150-acre interactive theme park dedicated to families with children between the ages of 2 and 12. With more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions, and uniquely themed LEGOLAND Water Park, LEGOLAND Hotel, and LEGOLAND Beach Resort inspired by the LEGO and DUPLO brands, LEGOLAND is geared towards family fun!

About the role...

Removes, installs, repairs, and tests all electromechanical equipment of rides, animation, attractions, and buildings. Performs other maintenance functions within theme park and assists other maintenance personnel as needed vital by maintenance supervision. Troubleshooting of sophisticated American and foreign made equipment. General Electrical, and PLC experience including VFD’s preferred.

What you’ll be doing...

  1. Follows established maintenance program, including any emergency repairs as required to keep down time to an acceptable minimum in all areas of attractions and facilities.
  2. Follow through on all maintenance repairs.
  3. Ensures that all ride equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
  4. Ensures the security and safety of all rides by inspecting and prevention of safety hazards on all rides and attractions.
  5. Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM, NEC, state, and local electrical codes, and loss prevention guidelines.
  6. Operate simple machine tools, such as drill presses, power saws, grinders, etc.
  7. Recognizes equipment that needs repair, replacing, or adjusting.
  8. Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and good working order.
  9. Keeps informed and updated on modern techniques and technical methods by attending supplemental courses, seminars, conventions, etc.
  10. Maintain liaison with fellow maintenance employees and other departments.
  11. Follows LEGOLAND Florida policies and procedures at all times.
  12. Responds to emergency calls within theme park, expediting repairs to ensure guest and fellow Model Citizens safety and comfort at all times.
  13. Maintains Rides and Attractions in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health.

Who we’re looking for...

  1. A proven experience in installing, maintaining, and servicing of electromechanical equipment as a journeyman/technician.
  2. Extensive knowledge of the practices, tools, and equipment used to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rides and other electromechanical equipment.
  3. Ability to identify the types and grades of hardware.
  4. Ability to set torque wrenches.
  5. Basic skill in reading a micrometer and caliper.
  6. Extensive knowledge in preventive maintenance systems.
  7. Detailed knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, such as linear actuators, solenoids, etc.
  8. Capability to read and evaluate reports and correspondence and basic math skills.
  9. Ability to read blueprints pertaining to rides, attractions and buildings.
  10. Ability to react under pressure or in an emergency in a calm and rational manner.
  11. A friendly, well-mannered, customer service oriented demeanor.
  12. Follow supervisor’s directions effectively, observe, and remember details.
  13. Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
  14. Must supply all hand tools up to 1 inch in standard size and 25.4 mm in metric size, which are needed to meet the requirements of the above job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in repairing and servicing small diesel and gasoline engines.
  2. Basic knowledge in operating lathe and milling machines.
  3. General knowledge of all types of lubricants.
  4. Strong solid understanding of Electrical, PLC’s, and VFD’s.
  5. Possesses detailed understanding of, but not limited to, working knowledge, of all phases of electromechanical work related to overhaul, repair, and preventive maintenance of all types of ride equipment, animation, utility's theme park, including high volume submersible-and turbine-type water pumps.
