Job description

Job Title: Building Management System (BMS) Technician

Job Summary:

Monitor and maintain the Building Management System (BMS) performance across the site to ensure proper operation and energy efficiency.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor BMS performance, perform data point monitoring, trending, troubleshooting, and system updates as required. Conduct system and database backups annually or as needed. Maintain workstation computers and Websup servers, update JACE licenses, modify graphics, and commission HVAC controllers and JACE systems. Make necessary modifications to sequences of operations and data points.
  2. Support energy conservation efforts by creating and monitoring utility data points, trending, and troubleshooting system issues.
  3. Perform daily system checks to ensure all control systems are online, troubleshoot communication failures, and perform preventative maintenance on hardware components.
  4. Recommend system program changes and upgrades to optimize performance and energy conservation. Communicate changes to relevant departments.
  5. Provide electronic maintenance support to Maintenance and Ride & Show Departments as needed.
  6. Participate actively in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following policies and procedures.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Scope:

Monitor and maintain the site-wide DDC/BMS system, perform system logs, updates, and coordinate with service providers and technicians to resolve issues and implement upgrades. Support other departments with electronic maintenance support and communicate system changes to HVAC teams.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, associate’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with electronic systems, programming, and control technology.
  • Experience with computers and servers is required.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Universal Refrigerant Certificate, Niagara AX Technical Certification, Johnson Control Metasys, Honeywell or other DDC systems certifications are required.
