Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Medical Assistant to support rheumatology care. You will collect patient data, measure vital signs, coordinate tests, and assist with point-of-care tasks and phlebotomy as needed.

Under clinician direction, you will help maintain efficient workflows, support a patient-centered environment, and ensure safety and quality of care in the clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• A related certification may substitute for education requirements (CMA, CMA, RN, or EMT).

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team.
• Collaborates with care team to achieve expected health outcomes.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to staff in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention and standard precautions in patient care.
• Assists with ADL, measures weight, height, vital signs, and reports changes to the nurse.
• Demonstrates ongoing commitment to learning and professional development.
