Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS, seeks a Medical Assistant 2 (Float) to support the 901 Family Practice team. You will collect data, measure vitals, coordinate tests, administer vaccines, and perform point‑of‑care testing as needed.

You will assist with plans of care, communicate with the care team, and maintain safe, clean patient areas in a patient‑centered environment. A CMA/MA credential or nursing progression is required, with clinic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least the first semester of an accredited nursing program.
• A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, CMA (AAMA), RMA, CNA, EMT, or PCT certification may substitute for education.
• Experience in an office or clinic setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary team.
• Administers vaccines and injections as delegated.
• Coordinates patient tests and services; trims wait times and promotes efficiency.
• Communicates pertinent data to the care team in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention and hand hygiene; maintains clean patient rooms.
• Assists with activities of daily living and records vital signs accurately.
• Demonstrates professional empathy and patient-centered care in practice.
• Supports ongoing learning and mentoring of Tissue PCTs and new staff.
