Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support rheumatology trials within the Biological Sciences Division. You will collaborate with the PI, department, sponsor, and institution to coordinate daily trial activities and ensure compliance with regulatory and study requirements.

Responsibilities include screening, enrollment, adverse event reporting, documentation, scheduling, and coordinating site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Clinical research experience or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of conducting clinical trials including screening, enrollment, subject follow-up, completion of case report forms, and adverse event reports.
• Coordinates clinical research activities for patients seen within Rheumatology and/or with rheumatic or autoimmune disease diagnoses.
• Maintains accurate documentation of informed consent, IRB approvals, source documentation, case report forms, drug dispensing logs, and study communications.
• Plans and coordinates patient schedules for study procedures, return visits, and treatment schedules.
• Ensures SOPs are implemented and documented per sponsor, PI, and regulatory specifications.
• Prepares and maintains protocol submissions and revisions.
• Educates patients about study procedures, visit schedules, and potential side effects.
• Performs assessments at visits and monitors adverse events.
• Organizes and attends site visits from sponsors and other study meetings.
• Recruits and interviews potential study patients and may transport specimens according to aseptic techniques.
• Coordinates quality assurance reviews conducted by sponsors, agencies, or review groups.
• Analyzes study-related documentation and progress reports.
