Job summary

Talon Professional Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled RHEL Engineer with strong AWS experience to design, deploy, and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux across on‑premises and AWS environments. This role emphasizes reliability, security, and performance in a hybrid data center.

You will implement high availability and disaster recovery, automate provisioning with Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation, and collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to drive enterprise

Qualifications

5+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain RHEL-based systems across on‑prem and AWS environments.
Build and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPCs, IAM, EBS, and networking components.
Automate system provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
Perform system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime.
Manage Linux services, including web servers, databases, and middleware.
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams; maintain documentation.
