Job summary

Ameritas seeks a Proposal Coordinator to drive RFP/RFI processes, liaise between sales and operations, and craft compelling proposals for dental, vision and hearing products. You’ll research, document, and format submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, independent work ethic, and strong writing skills within a hybrid work arrangement in Lincoln, NE.

Qualifications

• HD Diploma or GED required; degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related field preferred.
• 4–7 years of related experience in proposals/writing or insurance.
• Creative writing to craft narratives and questionnaire responses.
• Excellent reading and writing comprehension and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and solutions-based innovations.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with dental/vision product terms and proposal language.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; Access and PowerPoint a plus.
• Experience with group and partner distributions.
• Familiarity with proposal, contract and/or claim language.

Responsibilities

• Respond to questionnaires using Qvidian to develop submissions.
• Gather and format information to create complete sales proposals.
• Collaborate to ensure unity and consistency in all submissions.
• Manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Release bids on time and ensure accurate research for client presentation.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain excellent grammar and communication in all materials.
• Create thumb drives or binders for hard copy submissions.
• Assist supervisor with projects including mentoring and database maintenance.
• Cross-train with National Account teams as needed.
