The RF Test Engineer will play a vital role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) for mobile handset RF protocols, including machine setup and RF test script development. Responsibilities include providing technical training, developing and optimizing operational procedures, collaborating with OEMs, and contributing to special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Smartphone RF script setup and radiated shield box profile configuration for CMW-500 (4G) and CMX (5G) cellular protocol RF machines.
- Obtain technical information from OEMs and develop operational process documents as part of the NPI process.
- Proactively evaluate processes and ensure compliance.
- Assess, collaborate, design, and implement special project lines as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Evaluate and resolve problems, defining and implementing solutions or corrective actions promptly.
- Determine optimal processes for technical staff to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate training and cross-training of personnel.
- Implement and monitor systems to ensure proper operation.
- Develop RBOMs from technical information provided by OEMs (plus).
- Meet daily goals and NPI schedules set by Engineering Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or over ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in repair, diagnosis, and operation of RF equipment.
- Experience in developing RBOMs from OEM technical data is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience with cellular RF equipment and scripting for devices like CMU-200, CMW-500.
- 1-3 years supporting wireless/cellular industry repair lines at an engineering level.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Experience with wireless OEM and aftermarket software and hardware.
- Technical documentation skills, including SOP development for testing and repair processes.
- RF component-level repair experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements
- Heavy lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Stooping, bending, kneeling, and crawling.
- Sitting at a desk for document review and creation.
- Work in a warehouse environment with variable noise levels.
