Job summary

i3 is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Naval Research Laboratory, Tactical Electronic Warfare Division, with hands-on RF testing, chamber maintenance, and precision assembly.

You will perform RF tests, assemble electromechanical components, and maintain meticulous lab records while following SOPs and safety requirements. Active Secret clearance preferred, with a path toward advanced lab roles.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree in engineering technology or related program plus two years of electronics/RF experience.
• Experience testing and analyzing RF components and radio systems.
• Experience operating and maintaining anechoic chambers and RF measurement equipment.
• Proven ability to follow SOPs, test plans, and maintain detailed test records/logs.
• Experience cable fabrication, crimping, and electromechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Chamber & RF Testing: test/analyze RF systems and maintain the anechoic chamber per lab standards.
• Electromechanical Assembly & Debug: assemble chassis, PCBAs, and cables; perform debugging.
• SOP Execution & Compliance: execute workflows per SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Documentation & Data Logging: record test data, chamber logs, NCRs, and assembly records.
• Process Improvement: help update SOPs, work instructions, and test methodologies to boost repeatability.
