Job summary

STR’s Sensors Division seeks an experienced RF Systems Integration Engineer to lead RF test, measurement, and system integration for a new mode on an externally developed radar system. You will own end-to-end RF integration, define requirements, and guide validation with the partner radar.

You will coordinate with the external developer, plan integration testing, assess RF performance tradeoffs, and communicate results to internal leadership.

Qualifications

• Active Security Clearance, with eligibility for special access programs (U.S. Citizenship required).
• PhD, MS, or BS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years (BS), 6+ years (MS), or 2+ years (PhD) of relevant RF sensor or communication system experience.
• Strong programming skills in Matlab, Python, Simulink, and/or C/C++.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into research and integration focus.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to researchers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep expertise in RF systems, radar architectures, waveforms, and RF test & measurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF testing, measurement, and characterization across lab, integration, and system environments.
• Develop understanding of a third-party radar system’s RF architecture and interfaces.
• Define and own RF systems integration approach for implementing a new mode on an external radar.
• Design and validate integration strategies, RF interfaces, timing, and signal processing impacts.
• Collaborate with the external radar developer to resolve RF and integration challenges; plan and execute integration tests.
• Identify risks and tradeoffs related to RF performance and system compatibility; communicate findings to leadership.
