Job summary

STR, the Sensors Division, seeks an experienced RF Systems Integration Engineer to lead RF test, measurement, and system integration for a new mode on an externally developed radar system. You will be the technical authority on RF integration, defining requirements and guiding characterization and validation.

Qualifications

• Active Security Clearance with eligibility for special access programs.
• PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years experience.
• Experience designing, integrating and testing RF sensor and/or communication systems.
• Strong programming skills including Matlab, Python, Simulink and/or C/C++.
• Ability to translate customer requirements to determine research focus.
• Strong communication skills to describe complex concepts to researchers and non-technical audiences.
• Deep expertise in RF systems, radar systems, and RF test & measurement; understanding radar architectures and RF signal chains.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF testing, measurement, and characterization across lab, integration, and system environments.
• Develop deep technical understanding of a third-party radar system, including RF architecture and interfaces.
• Define and own RF integration approach for implementing a new mode on an externally developed radar.
• Design and validate integration strategies, including RF interfaces, timing, control, and signal processing impacts.
• Collaborate with external radar developer to resolve RF, system, and integration challenges; lead test planning and analysis.
• Identify risks and tradeoffs related to RF performance and system compatibility.
