Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring an RF Electronics Engineer in Devens, MA, to design and validate high-power RF control boards and power electronics that drive the SPARC RF plant. You will work hands-on from benchtop prototyping to full-scale system integration, delivering reliable, EMI/EMC-aware solutions in a high-stakes fusion environment.

You’ll partner with software, RF, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, write specifications for vendors, and model circuits to ensure performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing power electronics, control boards, or RF support circuitry.
• Hands-on experience with circuit simulation software (e.g., SPICE).
• Excellent PCB design skills using Altium or similar software for instrumentation, sensing, power supplies, and control systems.
• Strong modeling skills to validate electronics architecture and mitigate EMI/EMC issues in high-power, high-noise environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design custom control boards, precision power supplies, and sensing circuits for high-power RF amplifiers.
• Collaborate with software, RF, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate designs into the system architecture.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications for external vendors and internal teams.
• Perform advanced simulation and modeling of circuits and power systems to validate performance.
• Assemble and bring up prototypes on the bench and transition designs to the integrated RF system.
