Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Principal RF Systems Engineer to shape the end‑to‑end RF plant architecture for the SPARC program. You will drive the integration of high‑power electronics, solid‑state amplification, and complex transmission networks to maximize net energy in a leadership role.

You will lead the electronics ecosystem, I&C design, and fault‑tolerance strategies while actively mentoring a team of senior and junior engineers on the floor.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in high‑power RF systems
• Experience in radar, particle accelerators, or heavy power electronics
• EMI/EMC mitigation expertise
• RF simulation with CST/HFSS
• Proficiency in instrumentation, sensing, and system integration

Responsibilities

• Shape system architecture for RF plants in tokamaks with senior engineers
• Drive electronics integration and solid‑state amplifier design
• Lead I&C design for RF signal detection and embedded controllers
• Oversee high‑power delivery and dynamic impedance matching networks
• Mentor junior engineers and troubleshoot complex hardware
