Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Albuquerque, NM or Germantown, MD is seeking mid- to senior-level RF Modeling and Simulation Engineers to develop system-level models and analysis tools guiding architecture, design trades, and production decisions.

You will use MATLAB, HFSS, ADS, CST, Python to create reusable models, perform parameter sweeps, and correlate simulations with measured data, collaborating across RF, hardware, antenna, PCB, and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Mid-Level: typically five or more years in RF modeling, electromagnetic simulation, or related hardware development.
• Senior-Level: typically eight or more years with leadership in RF modeling or system analysis.
• Strong understanding of RF systems, phased-array architecture, beamforming, antennas, and measurement correlation.

Responsibilities

• Develop RF system, antenna, and phased-array models covering propagation, beamforming, and system interfaces.
• Analyze metrics such as gain, noise figure, EIRP, beam patterns, and link margins.
• Correlate model predictions with measured data from RF boards and test setups.
• Use MATLAB, HFSS, ADS, CST, Python to create reusable models and automation tools.
• Document model assumptions, interfaces, parameters, units, and validity ranges.
• Lead modeling tasks, mentor engineers, and drive process improvements.
