Job summary

MACOM Technology Solutions is seeking an Applications Engineer to support RF/microwave diode products in defense, aerospace, and telecom industries. You will guide customers in circuit design, perform special characterization, and generate technical collateral to optimize performance.

The role involves working with internal teams and external customers, traveling as needed to support field activities, and staying current with industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics, or equivalent.
• 1-4 years of RF/microwave engineering with emphasis on diode-based components.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Proficient in RF laboratory equipment and measurement techniques.
• Understanding of PIN, Schottky, varactor, and limiter diode characteristics and applications.
• Familiarity with radar systems, terrestrial and satellite communications.
• Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot customer designs.

Responsibilities

• Directly support external customers via conference calls, written communications, webinars, etc.
• Domestic and international travel for customer support and field activities.
• Create presentations, data packages, and other technical documentation.
• Specialized characterization of products including high power RF measurements.
• Provide detailed application guidance on diode selection, biasing, and thermal management.
• Design and build evaluation boards, reference designs, and application circuits.
• Support new product introductions and prototype evaluations.
• Generate comprehensive application notes and product data sheets.
• Support marketing content for MACOM’s web site.
• Stay current with industry standards and competitive products.
