Job summary

Raytheon’s Antenna Design Department in McKinney, Texas seeks a Section Leader to lead a new RF design team. This onsite role blends hands-on RF engineering with functional leadership to drive full hardware development lifecycles from design through verification and sustainment.

You will allocate ~85% of time to engineering program support and ~15–20% to leading RF engineers, coaching, staffing, and fostering technical excellence in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 85% time supporting engineering programs across the full development lifecycle of RF products.
• Lead a section of RF engineers with coaching, mentoring, and career development.
• Role combines hands-on technical contributions with functional leadership (Section Leader 15–20% time).

Responsibilities

• Performance management and career development activities.
• Support hiring efforts (resume reviews, interviews, etc).
• Oversee direct line management for the section including communication, performance management, career development, and talent acquisition.
• Collaborate and communicate with other sections and teams.
• Support department and directorate level initiatives.
• Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversight of personnel issue resolution.
• Manage employee timecards.
• Adhere to Raytheon Technologies Values and Behaviors.
• Work as a technical lead or individual contributor; Section Leader duties account for ~15–20% of time.
• Participate in and guide the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics: VSWR, insertion loss, gain.
