Job summary

The National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska is seeking an RF Data Scientist to analyze terabyte-scale RF datasets from deployed sensing systems supporting DoW and USG sponsors. You will develop tools, pipelines, and methodologies to identify trends and anomalies while delivering timely analytical products to program leadership.

Two positions available. Primary location is Omaha, NE with flexible secondary locations based on project needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in data science, analytics, or RF analytics.
  • Experience processing terabyte-scale datasets.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or R for data processing and analysis.
  • Experience automating data processing workflows.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze terabyte-scale RF datasets from deployed sensing systems.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in large RF data.
  • Develop software tools to automate RF data ingestion, processing, and analysis.
  • Design pipelines to improve speed, accuracy, and repeatability of RF data processing.
  • Collaborate with field teams and leadership to translate requirements into analysis priorities.
  • Deliver timely analytical products and reports to sponsors and program leadership.
  • Maintain data handling and documentation in line with government requirements.
  • Document methods and tooling for repeatability and knowledge transfer.
  • Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tooling as data needs evolve.
  • Coordinate with Melbourne, FL program office for planning and activities.
  • Provide analytical recommendations based on RF findings.
