Job summary

NSRI at the University of Nebraska is seeking an RF Field Scientist for overseas deployments to support DoW/USG sponsors. The role requires operating a two-person field team to deploy, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and recover specialized sensing systems at international locations.

The position involves 60 days overseas followed by 30 days home, with travel to Indo-Pacific, Europe, and other regions. Strong engineering background in RF/sensor tech and ability to work independently are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field as listed.
• Minimum and/or equivalent RF/Electrical engineering experience.
• Experience installing, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting complex systems.
• Experience with sensor systems, RF equipment, or instrumentation.
• Non-ionizing radiation technologies desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deploy as part of a two-person overseas field team with the Lead.
• Install, configure, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and recover sensing systems.
• Perform field integration, calibration, testing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
• Verify performance and conduct acceptance testing after deployment.
• Document data and transfer in accordance with government requirements.
• Maintain equipment accountability and logs.
• Support development of procedures and deployment docs.
• Identify issues and implement field repairs when practical.
• Work independently within a two-person team; coordinate with Lead.
