Job summary

National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska seeks an RF Data Scientist to analyze terabyte-scale RF datasets from deployed sensing systems for DoD/USG sponsors. You will develop tools and pipelines, collaborate with field teams, and deliver timely, actionable insights to support missions.

The role requires strong programming skills, capacity to work independently under deadlines, and occasional travel to government facilities and NSRI offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, RF analytics, or large-scale data processing.
• Proficiency in programming for data processing (Python, MATLAB, R, or similar).
• Experience automating data processing workflows with software/scripts.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze terabyte-scale RF datasets from deployed sensing systems.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalous RF presence using statistical methods.
• Develop software tools and scripts to automate RF data ingestion and analysis workflows.
• Refine algorithms and pipelines to improve speed, accuracy, and repeatability of processing.
• Collaborate with field teams and program leadership to translate mission needs into analysis priorities.
• Deliver timely analytical products and reports per sponsor requirements.
• Maintain data handling and documentation to comply with government standards.
• Document methods and tools for repeatability and knowledge transfer.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
