Job description

Sechan Electronics

Sechan Electronics is a 100% Employee-Owned organization that provides products and services to the aerospace and defense industry. In addition to supporting our national security, we offer generous healthcare coverage, ownership in the company, and every other Friday off.

We are currently seeking an Experienced Solderer for our Lancaster, PA facility. The role involves building final products according to print specifications, including wiring, wiring harnesses, circuit cards, and other hardware components within a chassis.

The Rework Solderer/Circuit Card Assembler II disassembles and reassembles highly sensitive circuit cards. The position requires soldering surface mount and through-hole electronic components onto circuit boards while maintaining high-quality standards.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Remove defective components from circuit card assemblies, including conformal coatings and bonding materials, using equipment such as desoldering stations, solder upflow equipment, soldering irons, and hot air desoldering tools.
  2. Replace and attach new electronic components onto circuit boards using hand tools, materials, and processes, including soldering.
  3. Follow work instructions and router operations to complete tasks.
  4. Accurately enter data into the company database after operations.
  5. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and supervisors to resolve assembly issues.
  6. Prepare components for installation, including forming, bending leads, and preconditioning wires.
  7. Handle circuit boards properly throughout the process to ensure product integrity.
  8. Obtain and maintain IPC610 and JStandard001 certifications.
  9. Perform self-inspection for defects before moving products to the next step.
  10. Maintain a clean work environment to ensure quality.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of soldering experience with circuit card assemblies
  • Understanding of heat management in circuit assemblies
  • Basic knowledge of chemicals used in assembly
  • Certifications in IPC610 and JStandard001; IPC 7722 preferred
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance
Work Environment:
  • Production environment requiring physical ability to work up to 9 hours, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Work hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday; Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; occasional additional hours.
  • 9/80 work schedule.
