An established industry player is seeking a skilled welder proficient in multiple welding methods. This role involves planning and executing welding tasks on various surfaces while adhering to strict specifications. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work at heights and apply basic shop mathematics. Join a dynamic team where your expertise in welding will contribute to high-quality production and innovation in a challenging environment. If you're ready to take on exciting projects and advance your skills, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Certified proficiency in welding across at least three groups: carbon and alloy steel, corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant alloys, aluminum alloys, using the following methods: gas (oxygen acetylene), metal arc with coated electrode, inert-gas shielded tungsten arc, inert-gas shielded arc with consumable electrode on various metals, and metal alloys with relatively unknown welding characteristics and unspecified specifications.
Perform welding on various surfaces including overhead, horizontal, vertical, and circular, adhering to the most rigid specifications.
Plan sequence and determine techniques for welding parts and complete assemblies. Use shop mathematics for layout from blueprints or when complete information or tooling is unavailable.
Set up parts and assemblies prior to welding, following company requirements, customer specifications, and shop practices. Use appropriate gas, inert-gas arc, and electric arc welding processes.
Perform welding on various surfaces and in various positions, working to strict specifications. Weld using multiple processes on different materials, including those with difficult access, high pressure or stress, or requiring precise tolerances. Perform rework as needed.
Obtain certification in manual metal arc welding (overhead and vertical, unlimited thickness) with minimal training. Stamp work for identification. Assist technicians in other fields as required. Perform soft soldering and brazing as necessary.
