Job summary

Flexible Pack in New Bedford, MA is seeking a machine operator to handle set-up, inspection, maintenance and operation of rewinding equipment. You will mount rolls, configure equipment, and secure approvals from a qualified operator.

Responsibilities include in-process inspections, defect segregation, following procedures, maintaining a safe, clean workspace, shrink wrapping labels, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or some college; one year experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business material; write reports and present information.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, compute rates, ratios and percentages, and interpret basic graphs.

Responsibilities

• Review work order package and contents to ensure conformity to written and verbal instructions.
• Mount roll onto rewinder and set up according to requirements.
• Secure approval from a qualified operator after set-up.
• Perform in-process inspection as approved by Supervisor.
• Segregate defects according to department procedures.
• Follow all department procedures and work instructions.
• Operate equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Shrink wrap labels, as required.
• Examine labels for quality and accuracy – remove defects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
