Job summary

Interstate Packaging Company is seeking a Slitter/Rewind Operator responsible for set-up and operation of the designated machine, ensuring accuracy and quality of product, and training new employees. The role requires reading job jackets, following quality procedures, effective communication, maintaining a clean rewind area, and strict adherence to GMP and safety policies.

Candidates should have manufacturing experience, good color vision, ability to lift heavy rolls, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and mechanical operations.
• Quality conscious with attention to detail.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Color vision required (must not be colorblind).
• Ability to lift 50–75 lb rolls; up to 300 lb with assistance.
• Read production orders and coordinate plates and materials.
• Stand for long periods and perform meticulous work.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures (PPE, ergonomics, chemical hazards) to protect health and safety.
• Read and understand job jackets/orders.
• Establish and follow quality checking procedures in the pressroom.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, oncoming shift, and management.
• Keep rewind area clean and perform line clearance as needed.
• Straightforward data entry and electronic record-keeping.
• Be at workstation within 3 minutes of reporting time.
• Comply with GMPs and quality policies.
