Until is a moonshot company building a pause button for biology, focusing on organ-scale reversible cryopreservation. This role owns the interface between a high-power rewarming platform and biological samples, driving hardware and software development for precise heat delivery.

We seek hands-on engineers and physicists who thrive on first-principles modeling and experimental work with real organs. Expect autonomy, rapid iteration, and collaboration across biology and engineering teams in a lab

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on engineering experience (student teams count).
• Strong command of electromagnetics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Mechanical design and fabrication experience (CAD, rapid prototyping, 3D printing).
• Circuit design from protoboard to PCB; build and debug sensors, data acquisition, and control systems.
• Proficient in Python and/or C++ (object-oriented).
• Willing to work with biologists; join a small, fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate hardware and software linking the rewarming system and the organ (holders, circuits, sensing, control, data logging).
• Run experiments on holder designs and rewarming protocols with organ and cryobiology teams.
• Model heating uniformity from first principles using electromagnetics, heat transfer, and imaging data.
• Develop sensing, control, interlock, and logging software for field profiles and temperature feedback.
• Take ownership of ambiguous problems and contribute across the rewarming hardware stack.
